This is one of the driest textbooks I have ever had to use for a class, even worse than the DSM series for psychology. The entirety of this textbook relies on the thought processes of a very few, specific individuals, and does not leave room for the fostering of a student's own ethics and moral reasoning. Class writers utilizing this textbook then develop a very narrow minded academic course that constantly reverts back to the opinions of those very few individuals, and does not support a student developing their own ethics and moral reasoning.Classes assign textbook reading by chapters, not titles. The headers and footers of each page do NOT have chapter numbers and changes topics constantly, making me have to constantly revert back to the table of contents to make sure that I am in the right place when doing my reading and assignments. The lack of chapter or section numbers in the headers is a chief complaint, a lack of navigational ability when you're bouncing around for a written assignment is not conducive to today's environment where time is money and you're constantly going back and forth between different parts of the book and the table of contents to make sure that what you are referencing is within your appropriate range of information for your assignment. This is a very dry, boring book. When assigned it to read, you won't find yourself reading it, you'll probably end up just going to your written assignments and bouncing around between your reading material and the table of contents. Key words and phrases are NOT bolded like in other textbooks either, making open book test taking even more difficult. I don't need my education on a silver platter, but I benefit from clear navigation, easy to digest material, and textbooks that provoke new ideas instead of narrow focused thinking. The seller is great and the book arrived promptly in great condition.
